Hides and skins
Hides and skins are raw materials for the leather industry amongst others. They have to be processed into a marketable product first before they go to the tanneries.
Vitelco has calf hides and goat skins at its disposal that are a by-product from its own production. The hides are of a consistent high value quality because of the integrated production framework.
The hides and skins are directly trimmed, weighed, selected and chilled after the animals are slaughtered. At the request of the customer the calf hides or goat skins can be cured and kept in cold rooms with fully automated temperature regulation.
Product information is registered directly and linked back to the slaughterhouse, livestock transporter and livestock farmer.
The Vitelco slaughterhouse supplies quality (fresh or cured):

- goat skins.
The hides are deliverable in all weights, colours and quality categories.
